Dick & Ann Blamey-Residence, Three Lakes, WIIn 2008, two years after we purchased a lot on Big Fork Lake in Three Lakes, WI, Tom developed a full set of plans for our dream home from a single picture we took of a lake shore home in Door County. We loved it, but unfortunately it priced out higher than we had hoped. So, we then had Tom modify plans for one we found in a log home builder's repertoire. He also made drawings of the insides of this one so we knew what it would look like in and out before we built. It was a pleasure working with Tom and his assistants. Shannon-Holiday Automotive, Fond du Lac, WIWe have worked with Tom Meiklejohn's architectural firm over the past 12 years with the various remodeling and additions we have completed to our facilities. Recently, Tom coordinator the GM re-imaging for our facility undertook and described by the Genesler Group. His firm executed the drawings and specifications required from the GM Genesler guidelines as well as providing the information required for permitting and construction. The project ran very smoothly with Tom's coordination to/from Genesler as well as with the contractor's and suppliers. Over the years, Tom's ability to communicate our building wants and needs with the contractors has helped make our dealership much more efficient. Thomas Nordin-Residence, Fond du Lac, WIWe retained Thomas Meiklejohn III AIA, to design our vacation home on Lake Winnebago. Not being from the Fond du Lac area, we received a recommendation to use Tom from a trusted building professional in the area. Living in Hawaii, it was impractical to meet in person during the course of this project, so we designed the house with weekly meetings via teleconference and email. Tom was instrumental in keeping the project organized and keeping our momentum focused on a design which met our requirements. There were significant constraints on the house, due to the lot size, location, our vision and budget. Tom managed to design a house which exceeded expectations, and yet satisfied the various agencies responsible for construction and lakeshore regulation. Tom is an excellent listener, taking our (often differing) ideas, and producing creative, interesting, inspired solutions. The end result was a home that is uniquely suited to our lifestyle and yet carries the inimitable qualities that Tom brought to the process. While a modest home, the design has received rave review from our neighbors, family and friends, and fits perfectly within our neighborhood. Tom Gross-Ahren Gross Plumbing & Gross Residence, Fond du Lac, WII have had the opportunity to work on a professional basis with Mr. Tom Meiklejohn, AIA. Tom worked with our company (Ahern-Gross Plumbing) on two major office remodeling projects at our Main Street location in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. I also recently finished an eighteen month remodeling project on my personal residence that Tom was instrumental in. I have been very satisfied with Tom's understanding of these projects and his thorough thought process in achieving a great end result.
Charles Hornung-Classic Cut Hair Salon, North Fond du Lac, WIMy wife and I have worked with Tom on two separate occasions over the past few years. The first time was back in 1996 with the design and construction of our new Beauty Salon in North Fond du Lac. We met with Tom with some hand-sketched ideas and some general themes we wanted in the new construction. After a couple of interactions, we agreed on the design for the new building. Tom did a very good job in creating an architectural drawing and plan by taking our simple design and ideas. Throughout the planning stage, Tom was able to work with us, suggesting different ideas to take advantage of space and following building code requirements. Tom was able to make recommendations as to what builders he would recommend for the type and size of our project. Tom worked with us and our builder throughout the project, bringing all the individuals together to make sure everyone was on the same page regarding the design and timetable. The second time we worked with Tom was to add an addition to the original construction. This addition was in the fall of 2003. Here again, Tom was able to understand what we wanted to accomplish and worked with us to be as cost conscious as possible but still attain what we wanted with the addition.
